Introduction to Parametric Linkage Analysis

Lesson 1: Genetic Loci, Linkage and Association
Lesson 2: Calculating and Evaluating Lod Scores
Lesson 3: Analysis: Linkage Phase Known
Lesson 4: Analysis: Linkage Phase Unknown
Lesson 5: Factors Affecting Linkage Analysis
Lesson 6: Multipoint & Haplotype Analyses

At the end of this course, you will have a basic understanding of:

  • Genetic distance and recombination
  • The use of recombination in identifying the location of a disease gene
  • Scoring recombinants and non-recombinants
  • Calculating lod scores for simple pedigree structures and genetic models
  • The use of multipoint linkage analysis and haplotype analysis for identifying a minimum candidate interval for trait gene localization
