Medical Genetics Residency Program

One of the key components of a 21st Century medical education will be a physician’s ability to understand not only the genetic basics of disease and conditions, but also how both health and disease are functions of the interaction of a patient’s unique genome and the environment. To address the challenges of the genetic revolution, the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics, in partnership with the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics, offers a two-year residency in Medical Genetics, leading to certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

The residency in Medical Genetics is established at Jackson Memorial Hospital, at the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics as well as Miami Children’s Hospital. The residency is open to M.D.’s and D.O. physicians who have completed at least 24 months in an Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education residency program. For more information click here
