Gary Beecham, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Dr. John. T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics
Director of the Division of Research Informatics, John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics

Dr. Beecham is a statistician, specializing in bioinformatics and the statistical analysis of large-scale genetic data. His broad research focus is on identifying genetic factors influencing Alzheimer disease and related dementias. He has experience with a wide variety of genomics studies, including family studies, case/control studies, array and next-generation sequencing data, among others. Current research involves the study of non-Mendelian forms of early-onset Alzheimer disease, the study of neuropathological lesions influencing dementia, and the study of the genetics of AD in underserved populations, such as African American, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Peruvian, and others.
