“All of Us” Research Program

At the moment, health care is often one-size-fits-all. But imagine a future where your health care is tailored to you. We want to make that future possible. How? By creating a resource that allows researchers to conduct thousands of studies on health and disease.

The All of Us Research Program, from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is inviting one million people across the U.S. to help build one of the most diverse health databases in history. We welcome participants from all backgrounds to help us speed up medical discoveries by donating health information. Researchers will use the data to learn how our biology, lifestyle, and environment affect individual health. This could help them develop better treatments.

Studying DNA is a key part of this effort. One of the side benefits of participating is that you can get your DNA results over time. When we process your DNA, we will be able to check your DNA for information that you may be interested in. Some examples include ancestry, traits, or certain health-related DNA results that you can then discuss with your health care provider.

The University of Miami is a proud partner in the All of Us Research Program and leads the SouthEast Enrollment Center (SEEC). Our site is located in one of the most ethnically diverse communities in the U.S. and we want to ensure our rich diversity is represented in future medical research.
